MAPLE LEAFS BUILDING FIRM FOUNDATIONS

It has been another successful year for Birmingham baseball. The Maple Leafs focus in 2008 was to rebuild the winning team that reached the dizzy heights of the National League in 2007.

It was tough with the loss of some individual talent from previous years but the Leafs new everyone contributes ethos paid off, and the club found new stars in unexpected areas as team spirit inspired all at MG Field.

In August 2008 the new look Maple Leafs clinched their third Midland League title in four years with a dominating 18-4 record which sent them to British Baseballs National Championships where they lost a tight affair with southern AA champions Bournemouth Sharks 11-9.

The Leafs will now take a well earned break before returning in December when preparations for the 2009 campaign will begin.

The Birmingham Maple Leafs are already preparing for the long road to the 2009 playoffs We would like to invite you to join our quest in helping our team get there!

Are you 16 years old or above and interested in playing/learning the game of baseball? If the answer is yes then we want you! Or are you are an experienced player looking for a club with a winning attitude? If the answer is yes then we are the club for you!

Whether you have had a baseball glove on since birth or whether you have never thrown a baseball before in your life. We want you!
